The Ram Temple project in Ayodhya has received the Sword of Honour Award 2024 from the British Safety Council, marking a significant milestone in its construction journey. Nripendra Misra, chairman of the Construction Committee of the Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, announced the award on December 15, 2024.
The Sword of Honour is the highest recognition in safety management, awarded only to projects that demonstrate exceptional safety standards. The British Safety Council conducts comprehensive audits of processes and practices, followed by thorough on-site assessments. Projects must first achieve a five-star rating in safety assessments to become eligible for this distinguished honor.
International Recognition and Construction Progress
The Ram Temple safety excellence achievement comes as construction, led by Larsen & Toubro, has already garnered recognition with the National Safety Council’s Golden Trophy. This latest Ayodhya Ram Temple recognition further validates the project’s commitment to maintaining stringent safety protocols.
Construction progress continues steadily, with the first and second floors, including the temple’s “Shikhar” (top), entering their final phase. The main structure is expected to reach completion by June 2025.
The temple will showcase intricate marble statues of Shri Ram Darbar alongside depictions of revered sages and figures from Hindu scriptures, including Maharishi Valmiki, Ahilya Devi, Nishad Raaj, and Sabri. These artistic elements are scheduled for completion by January 2025.
Architectural Excellence and Safety Standards
The stone structure, which incorporates approximately 15 lakh cubic feet of Bansi Paharpur stone from Rajasthan, demonstrates safety excellence in construction. Notable artists and architects, including Vasudev Kamath, Shri Sompura, and Shri Jay Kaktikar, have contributed their expertise to the temple’s design.
As construction advances toward its 2025 completion date, the Ram Temple is a testament to the successful integration of traditional architectural elements with modern safety standards.
The project has established new benchmarks for religious site construction while maintaining cultural authenticity, drawing anticipation from devotees and visitors worldwide for its upcoming inauguration.
