The stage is set for one of the world’s largest spiritual events, as the Uttar Pradesh Tourism Department held a grand launch for the ‘Mahakumbh 2025 Prelude‘ last Friday, November 29, 2024, at The Ashoka Hotel in New Delhi

Union Minister of Tourism and Culture, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, and Uttar Pradesh’s Tourism Minister, Jaiveer Singh, graced the occasion. This event provided an exclusive preview of what’s to come in Prayagraj, the host city for the upcoming Mahakumbh 2025, a key moment in India’s spiritual tourism calendar.

A Global Invitation for Spiritual Unity

The Mahakumbh Mela, set to take place in Prayagraj from January 13 to February 26, 2025, is expected to draw over 40 crore devotees from across the globe. This spiritual gathering is one of the largest and most revered in the world, and the recent event in New Delhi served as a curtain-raiser.

Gajendra Singh Shekhawat spoke passionately about Mahakumbh tourism, calling it a celebration of India’s diverse cultural heritage. “If you wish to explore India, come to Mahakumbh,” he said.

The Union Minister emphasized that the Mahakumbh Mela is more than a spiritual gathering; it is a monumental event that fosters cultural exchange. He added that The Mela reflects India’s deep cultural roots and spirit of unity, which is especially relevant in today’s global context.
