Heavy monsoon rains in India’s financial and national capitals have led to travel disruptions, with major carriers issuing travel advisories to caution passengers. Downpours clogged roads in both cities, and flight operations were affected, creating widespread heavy rainfall flight disruption in India.

Mumbai Flight Delays Due to Heavy Rains

Low visibility and waterlogged roads slowed operations at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, leading to flight delays across multiple carriers.

IndiGo informed passengers that continuous rainfall in Mumbai is causing minor flight delays. Before heading to the airport, travelers can check their flight status on the airline’s website or app.

SpiceJet issued a similar notice announcing that bad weather is affecting all departures and arrivals. Passengers are requested to check on their flight status online.

Akasa Air recommends allowing extra time to reach the airport due to heavy rainfall in Mumbai and Delhi, which may cause traffic congestion.

Heavy Rains Slow Delhi Traffic

In the capital, torrential rain caused delays on major roads and raised concerns about airport access, prompting a Delhi airport travel advisory

IndiGo advised passengers, “Due to today’s downpour, several roads across Delhi are currently blocked or experiencing slow movement. Please allow extra time, take an alternate route if possible, and check your flight status on our website or app before leaving for the airport.” It thanks patrons for their continued trust and patience.

Air India also warned that rain could affect flight operations and suggested checking flight status before heading to the airport.  Likewise, SpiceJet repeated its weather warning for the Delhi sector, encouraging passengers to monitor their flight status online.

Mumbai and Delhi Flight Advisory

With the monsoon season intensifying, airlines advise passengers to monitor their flight status updates regularly, leave earlier than usual for the airport, and expect delays. The air travel advisory on monsoon rains highlights the growing challenge of keeping flight operations on track while heavy showers impact ground traffic and air schedules.
