Currently, Colombo–Malaysia air travel options include 30 direct flights weekly operated by Malaysia Airlines, AirAsia, and SriLankan Airlines, offering 4,990 seats. 

FitsAir aims to differentiate itself in the Sri Lanka to Malaysia flights market by providing a budget-friendly alternative while maintaining comfortable service standards, though specific fare information has not yet been announced.

FitsAir Flight Schedule and Destination Highlights

This new route promises to make Malaysia more accessible to Sri Lankan travelers. The FitsAir flight schedule includes service every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday, offering an affordable and reliable option to explore Malaysia. 

From the iconic Petronas Twin Towers in Kuala Lumpur to the serene beaches of Langkawi and the cultural allure of Penang, Malaysia has much to offer.

The launch was celebrated at an event attended by key representatives from both countries. Dato’ Shaharuddin Abu Sohot, Secretary General of Malaysia’s Ministry of Tourism, Arts & Culture, expressed enthusiasm for the new service: “We are excited about FitsAir’s new route to Kuala Lumpur, which further enhances Malaysia’s appeal as a top travel destination for Sri Lankan visitors. This initiative aims to increase flight frequencies and reinforces our commitment to promoting tourism in conjunction with Visit Malaysia 2026.”

Tourism Growth and Economic Impact

In 2024, Sri Lanka contributed significantly to Malaysia’s tourism sector with 61,766 visitors, representing a 4.2% increase in arrivals. Introducing FitsAir into this market is expected to further boost these numbers by providing travelers with more options.
