The Haryana project is set to create the first world-class Disneyland-style theme park in India with a massive 500-acre entertainment complex in Manesar, transforming the National Capital Region into a global tourism destination.
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini revealed the project after discussions with Union Culture and Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat. The Disneyland-style NCR Manesar entertainment hub will be located near Pachgaon Chowk in Manesar along the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal (KMP) Expressway.
India’s First Disney-style Park Located Near Gurugram
The site offers excellent connectivity to Delhi and the surrounding NCR cities. Manesar sits close to Gurugram, which hosts numerous Fortune 500 companies and contributes major revenue to Haryana. This proximity makes it an ideal location for a theme park near Gurugram. Additionally, the area will benefit from the upcoming 1,000-acre Global City project.
“This entertainment hub will bring economic, cultural, and social benefits not only to the state but to the country as a whole,” CM Saini stated. “It will generate thousands of direct and indirect employment opportunities, boost infrastructure, and significantly transform the surrounding region.”
This will be India’s first Disney-style park built with a global animation brand, competing with destinations like Paris, Tokyo, and California.

Economic Benefits of Haryana Tourism Development
The project promises major economic transformation. It will create direct employment and boost growth in hospitality, real estate, and service sectors throughout Manesar and surrounding areas.
CM Saini called it a “game-changer” for Haryana. The project represents part of Haryana tourism development strategy, including expanding the Surajkund Crafts Mela and enhancing the International Gita Mahotsav in Kurukshetra.
The announcement revives memories of a similar 1989 proposal that spanned 28,000 acres but was scrapped following farmer protests over land acquisition.
BJP spokesperson Arun Yadav addressed the comparison: “Our opposition in 1989 was against the forcible acquisition of thousands of acres of farmers’ land. This project is limited to 500 acres and will be executed in a manner that respects farmers’ interests while promoting development.”

What This Means for India
Land acquisition and administrative work are already underway. The project represents Haryana’s bold vision to establish India as a serious player in the global theme park industry. For years, millions of Indian families previously traveled abroad for world-class theme park experiences. Soon, this magical kingdom may be just hours away from home.
