Indian travellers gained direct access to Central Asia as TezJet Airlines launched its first direct flights from Delhi to Bishkek on Sunday, December 7. The Kyrgyzstan-based carrier inaugurated the service from Indira Gandhi International Airport, introducing convenient Delhi to Kyrgyzstan flights for tourists and business travellers alike.
This new TezJet flight route represents a significant milestone in India-Kyrgyzstan relations. Eliminating connecting flights makes the Central Asian destination far more accessible to Indian passengers.
Inaugural Service Celebrates Bilateral Ties
The TezJet Delhi-Bishkek flight launch ceremony united Kyrgyzstan’s Ambassador to India, GMR Airport leadership, and senior aviation officials. Passengers enjoyed festive decorations and sweet treats at check-in, while officials performed a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony to commemorate the occasion.
Arun Kumar, President & CEO of TezJet, expressed enthusiasm about the launch: “We are thrilled to see our Delhi–Bishkek service take off. This route represents not only a new flight but a new bridge connecting two vibrant regions. India is an important market for us, and we look forward to welcoming Indian travellers to experience the beauty and hospitality of Kyrgyzstan.”

Abhishek Goyal, Executive Director & CEO of Aeroprime Group, highlighted the route’s potential: “We are proud to partner with TezJet in this exciting journey. The commencement of direct flights between Delhi and Bishkek will unlock immense opportunities for tourism and business, bringing the people of India and Kyrgyzstan closer together.”
What Travellers Should Know
The Delhi-Bishkek nonstop flights operate every Sunday, offering passenger transport and cargo capacity. TezJet plans to maintain weekly service initially, with potential frequency increases based on passenger demand.
This route enables Indian travellers to explore Kyrgyzstan’s dramatic mountain landscapes, historic Silk Road sites, and emerging adventure tourism destinations. It also strengthens economic ties between India and Central Asia.
The timing aligns with growing Indian interest in unique, off-the-beaten-path destinations. Central Asian countries continue gaining popularity for their rich culture, natural beauty, and affordable travel experiences.
