Air India is set to elevate domestic air travel with New Delhi-Jaisalmer flights to energize desert tourism in Rajasthan. Starting 26 October 2025, the airline will operate two non-stop flights daily between Delhi and Jaisalmer through 28 March 2026, timed perfectly for the region’s winter peak season. Traditionally centered on Jaipur and Udaipur, tourism may now radiate deeper into the Thar.
Comfort and Convenience with Air India Direct Flights
Operating out of New Delhi on Airbus A320 aircraft, Air India becomes the sole full-service carrier offering direct flights on this route. Passengers can enjoy meals, comfortable seating, and generous baggage allowances—including premium service features not typically found on budget carriers.
Jaisalmer, often called the “Golden City, ” beckons travelers with its sandstone fort, desert rides, and ornate havelis. Until now, reaching it meant lengthy land travel or sparse flight options. These new Delhi to Jaisalmer air travel services will change that, offering flexibility and ease for quick getaways and longer stays.

Strategic Expansion Amid Challenges
This launch aligns with Air India’s broader growth drive. The airline already plans non-stop flights to Manila, beginning 1 October 2025, furthering its international presence. Meanwhile, it is suspending its Delhi–Washington D.C. direct flights starting September 2025 due to fleet retrofits and Pakistan airspace restrictions.
Industry insiders see the Jaisalmer route as an opportunity to meet rising traveler demand and boost the travel industry in India’s tourism sector.
The direct flight trims travel time to roughly 1 hour 45 minutes—a significant improvement over road journeys. For local economies, this connection promises more visitors and greater revenue for hotels, eateries, and tour providers offering cultural experiences and desert safaris.
A Swift Passage to the Golden Sands
By linking India’s capital with Jaisalmer via non-stop flights, Air India is lowering travel barriers and spotlighting the region’s cultural richness. This winter, the desert’s golden dunes and heritage allure are just a quick flight away—an inviting new chapter in India’s travel story.
